These 3 were taken on Friday morning before school. Gina has recently become fascinated by my makeup. Every morning she wants to apply some lipstick before we walk out the door. Luckily, I can convince her to put on some neutral lip gloss… usually.
Friday night, I met up with some new friends that I’ve met through blogging… Jennifer, Katie (I actually work with her husband), and Anne (who’s blog is private). We met at La Huerta downtown and I don’t think there was a silent second! We met up at 7, and Kendall was home in time to keep the G’s. I had told him that I thought I’d be home by 8:30 or 9. Well, it seemed like we had only be there maybe an hour, and I looked at my watch, and it was already 9:30! Haha! We didn’t take a picture, but trust me when I say that we had a great time!
Which takes us to Saturday morning! I was trying to get us ready so we could go meet Daddy for lunch. He had drill over at Camp Gruber, so we were going to meet him at Mazzio’s for lunch in Sallisaw. While I was scurrying around, I left Gina alone in our bathroom a few times. And I came in to her wearing my Smashbox lip STAIN! Let me just say that it was very difficult to get off of her skin! Including her hands! Crazy girl!
Once we ate our lunch at Mazzio’s, there were video games… and (lucky for us) I only had 4 quarters! So, these 3 played a couple of games, and we were on our way!
After we left Sallisaw, we headed south to Poteau to watch my nephew Jace and his high school baseball team at their first home game of the season. On the way there, “Livin On A Prayer” by Bon Jovi came on. I have always told Gina that they were singing about her in this song, but today was the day that it finally clicked and she heard her name! She was rockin out!! She absolutely loved it! She would say “I wanna hear my Gina song again!” … so we listened to it about 6 times!
Finally, we made it to the ball field… I love that song, but not sure how much more I could have taken! The Pirates got some updates to their field this year. One of those updates were these “contribution rocks”. Kendall’s dad was an American Legion coach in Poteau back in the 1980’s & 1990’s, so Kendall & his siblings went together and got a rock in his name. I got Gina to pose with the rock! And now that I’m looking at this pic, there’s our favorite pirate batting… #8 is Jace!
Here’s a collage of our fun! My brother does the loud speaker announcing, so Maci & my dad were sitting up there with him when we got there. They got Garrett to go up there too and he absolutely loved it.
But his absolute favorite part was getting to watch Jace bat! Pirates lost, but we were just happy to get to be there and be a part of it! It was about 60 degrees, but rainy and cloudy, so a bit chilly, but nothing unbearable. When Jace was getting ready to bat, Garrett would shyly say “hey Johnny!” to try & get his attention. We were about 20 feet from him, and he had his batting helmet on, and of course, he’s not listening for someone to call him Johnny. So, his momma (my sister-in-law) hollered his name and pointed to Garrett. Jace laughed and said “what’s up, Johnny?!” to Garrett and waved and what not… Garrett got so excited! We still have no clue why Garrett calls him Johnny, but Jace just calls Garrett that right back… it’s like their thing. Makes me happy that he was happy to see Garrett there!
We left the baseball field to head to my parents’ house and we got Maci to join us! After some playing and enjoying a burger basket from the Southern Belle, we took the golf cart for a spin! Granny gave us a blanket to take, and I couldn’t resist taking the top middle pic.. While Maci was driving, Garrett was rubbing on the tags just like he does his blue! Made me giggle! After about 10 minutes on the golf cart, we started going slower… and slower… The battery was going dead. That’s why Garrett is standing in the pic on the top right. We are going slower than an 90 year old with a cane walks, so he got to stand up. He realized that he could literally run circles around the golf cart as we slowly crept down the street! Haha! The bottom left pic is of my parents having to push the golf cart as Maci drove it up the driveway! Time to plug the ole cart in, I guess!
We left the house about 11am, and left Granny & Papah’s about 7:30-ish. We stopped on our street to get gas and I had to snap this pic. She fell asleep about 5 minutes after we left my parents, but he lasted until we got to Pocola.
Kendall’s group had their dining in on Saturday night, so he texted me this pic!
We had a house showing yesterday, so as I scurried from room to room getting things cleaned up… Gina, the rainboots, and the iPad followed me as she watched Caillou on Netflix. I swear I am the worst when it comes to getting the house ready for a party or a showing. I generally keep it picked up, but to actually clean… I will do 2 or 3 things in our bathroom, then go to the kitchen to get something and wind up doing a few things in there, go move the laundry and wipe down in there, then remember what I was getting for our bathroom. THUS the reason it takes me all day. If I could stay focused, I bet you it wouldn’t even take me 2 hours.
We loaded up & went to get some Braum’s ice cream and played some “I spy” why the people looked at the house.
After that pic… Gina said “take a pic-cha of my tongue outta my mouf!”. She’s quite the cut up, for sure!
About 5 minutes before we pulled back into the driveway, she fell asleep in the van. Last night was the whole “spring forward” time change thing, so I let her sleep about 30 minutes before I got her up.
After I laid her down, I caught a glimpse of this guy’s chocolate ice cream facial masterpiece! I had to text a pic of it to Kendall! He said it looked like a pirate, I thought it was more like a sumo wrestler!
Just another fun weekend… Funny how when we woke up Saturday morning, we had absoltuely zero to do and we wound up be fairly busy! It was really fun, though!

Oooohhhh my goodness! That was a fun time! Ready to do that again...whenever! :)
